Learn About Impound Towing Services

Blog

An impound yard is a large property that's normally gated where cars that have been impounded are kept. There will be an office on-site where someone can go to pay the impound fee and retrieve their vehicle from the impound. There are a lot of different reasons why a car would be towed and impounded. This article will cover some of the many different reasons why cars end up benign towed and impounded:

The driver is arrested or not able to drive

One of the reasons why a car would be taken by an impound towing service and put in the impound lot would be if the driver is unable to drive the car off the roadway to a safe parking spot. One reason why someone may not be able to drive the car from the site themselves is that they are under arrest and there's no available driver in the car with them. Another reason why they may not be able to drive is that they have been pulled over and found to not have valid licenses. If there is no other licensed driver with them to drive, then the car will be towed and impounded.

The car is parked where it shouldn't be

Another reason why a car would be taken and impounded by an impound towing service would be if the car has been parked where it isn't supposed to be. If someone parks their car in a no-parking zone, then this constitutes one reason why the vehicle would be quickly towed. Also, a vehicle can be towed and impounded if it is in a parking space that has been clearly marked as someone else's parking space. When it comes to a no parking zone, many times these zones will be easy to spot due to large traditional signs and painted curbs. However, there are also sometimes when they are indicated with small signs that depict restricted days and times marked on them, and the days and times can be hard to read from a distance. This is why it's so important to double-check the days and times on the signs to avoid having a car impounded.

While the laws can differ from one state to another, there are also many other areas a vehicle shouldn't park in, or they can also be towed and impounded in these cases as well. A few examples of additional areas that can often lead to the car being impounded when parked in can include a construction zone, in front of a fire hydrant, in a fire lane, in a handicapped parking space, and in a bus zone.

Conclusion

As soon as someone finds out their car has been impounded, it's important for them to go down to get their car. The fees will accrue each day, so they will have to pay more the longer the car is left in impound.
